Argon Technology is proud to release the PXE Boot Agent for both the Agere ET1310 and the ET1311 PCI Express Gigabit integrated circuit.


Agere customers can now license the Argon PXE Boot Agent directly from Agere, when purchasing the Agere ET1310 or ET1311 PCI Express Gigabit integrated circuit for integration into their system boards or stand-a-lone PCI express  Ethernet adapter.


With the Argon PXE Boot Agent, Agere customers will be able to build system’s that are “Wired for Management" (WfM) compliant. WfM is an industry standard, initiated by Intel to improve the manageability of client PC systems, and is part of the Intel and Microsoft PC98 specification. The Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) is part of the WfM specification.


This technology will be available from both Agere and Argon Technology. Agere customers that may want further customizations done to the Argon PXE Boot Agent for the Agere ET1310/ET1311 can get those done directly from Argon Technology. Those customers that are currently using the Agere Gigabit solution will now be able to offer a complete Wired for Management compliant solution.


The Argon PXE Boot Agent is now available for free to Agere customers, when purchasing the ET1310/ET1311 integrated circuit from Agere.
