USB Ethernet Adapter with PXE on Disk

I have been trying to get a tool for booting to the network for computer without PXE compliant NICs. I have bought the Argon USB fast ethernet Adapter with PXE on Disk to achieve this. However I put the adapter in and the floppy, which boots, but the process ends with an error stating "error while initialising the NIC"
The computers are running XP professional.

The object of this exercise is to RIS images from the network. We are doing this quite happily on machines that have PXE compliant NICs, however some dont' and I thought the USB adapter would sort this out for me.

Have I forgotten to do something???
Is there another tool or anything else that can help me achieve my objectives. It is very time consuming installing new network cards into machines and I'm sure there must be a way around doing that.

Re: USB Ethernet Adapter with PXE on Disk

Which computer or laptop are you using?

On the Toshiba laptops, in the BIOS, the entry for Controller Mode field (under PC Card option) must be set to "Cardbus/16bit".
